The 89th Flatbush Troop was founded in 2017 to serve the greater Flatbush community.  The troop meets on two Wednesdays per month at the southern end of Prospect Park (during spring and fall) and the Flatbush Tompkins Congregational Church on Dorchester Road (during winter).  89th Flatbush has an Otter raft (K - 3) and a Timberwolf pack (4 - 6) and hopes to add a Pathfinder troop in 2019.

Both sections are currently near capacity; however, admission of individual families will be considered on a case by case basis to support BPSA’s policy of inclusion by promoting racial, ethnic, and gender diversity. Consideration will also be given to parents who are willing to take on leadership roles within the troop, particularly those with prior scouting experience

The 89th Flatbush necker is blue, turquoise and yellow, referencing the colors of the original flag of the Borough of Brooklyn.
